What you’ll check

Five areas, three questions each.

01

Ownership

Who really holds your domain, logins and code, and whether you could leave your provider tomorrow.

02

Security

The quick signs that your site is protected, up to date and free of forgotten admin accounts.

03

Backups & support

Whether you could recover from a crash, and who you’d call if it happened tonight.

04

Message & content

Whether a first-time visitor understands what you do and knows what to do next.

05

Reach & giving

How your site works on a phone, how easy it is to give, and how you show up on Google.

About Chris

One person, the whole picture.

I’ve been building websites since 1998 and have managed more than 100 of them for nonprofits, churches, trades, authors and small businesses across Alberta. When you call, you get me: the person who designs your site, hosts it, keeps it secure and answers the phone.

I know mission-driven work from the inside. For ten years, Rotary has taught me how volunteer organizations really run, and my wife and I help run a food bank depot in northeast Edmonton through Freedom Centre Church. That’s why I explain everything in plain language and build tools your staff and volunteers can actually use.

How I work

Three things I won't compromise on.

01
Trust

Your code, your domains, your data.

You own every domain, login and line of code. You get full admin access to every account, never a locked reseller panel, so nothing about your site is held hostage. If you ever want to bring in another developer or manage things yourself, the door is always open. And if we ever part ways, you get a complete handoff with everything you need to keep going without me.

02
Purpose

Built for the work, not the awards.

Every build starts with what your organization actually needs, not what looks good in a portfolio. Before anything gets designed, I take the time to understand who you serve and what your website needs to do for them. Design serves function, so every page has a job to do for your mission. Every new site is custom coded in static HTML, with no WordPress or page builder, so it loads fast and leaves far less to break, patch or hack. And if a refresh or a few fixes will do the trick, I’ll tell you honestly that you don’t need a new site.

03
Budget

Honest scope, in writing, before we start.

Every project gets a fixed quote and a clear list of what’s included, so you know exactly what you’re paying for. The price we agree on is the price you pay, with no retainers unless you ask for one and no surprises on the invoice. If something comes up along the way that wasn’t in the original scope, I’ll explain what it involves and what it would cost, and nothing moves forward until you say yes.

Work together

Monthly Partnership

Simple plans. No contracts.

Every website I build, including Charter Charity sites, can stay licensed, hosted and maintained through one simple monthly partnership.

  • Month to month. Stay because it works, not because you’re locked in.
  • Malware scanning, backups and maintenance on every plan.
  • Hosted on Canadian servers through Wilkins IT in Toronto.
  • If anything ever happens to me, Wilkins IT steps in so your site keeps running.

How I give back

One mission each month.

Charter Charity Program

A free website every month, on the house.

Each month I design a logo and build a complete, custom coded static HTML website for a qualifying nonprofit, church or mission-driven organization, a $2,500 value given because the work matters.

Who qualifies: nonprofits, churches and mission-driven organizations, one each month, selected at my discretion. After launch, your site stays hosted, secured and maintained on my Basic partnership at half price, $48.50 a month instead of $97, month to month with no contract.
